Sparbanken Rekarne is one of Sweden's oldest savings banks and are partly owned by Swedbank but also Sparbanksstiftelsen Rekarne that started in 1996 but has its roots all the way back to 1827.
Sparbanken Rekarne presented a challenge to Malardalen University where it has come to their attention that financial debt among the younger population is increasing. In line with Sparbanken Rekarne’s philosophy they want to find a way to educate this group in an informative yet interesting way.
Two tracks were identified within the project:
Track 1 - Determine what message about financial health that is to be conveyed to the target group
Track 2 - Find an efficient way to convey this message to the specific target group.
In order to get insights and find a solution, the design thinking approach was applied.
The workshop for high school students was designed and facilitated in gymnasium(). Even though our first idea, as a team after primary research, was related to social media or a board game, in reality students didn’t find these solutions attractive.
We analyzed the received data, artifacts during the workshop and generated several solutions. As a result, we came up with the quest idea. This idea was validated via questionnaire as qualitative measure and user involvement as qualitative source of data.
